Comments: READ AND LEARN THE DARK TRUTH OF THE GIANT CONCENTRATION CAMP THAT
THE ISLAND OF CUBA HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 41 YEARS. ?Doctor Kilari Amand Paul, president of
Global Peace Initiative (GPI) a 36-year-old of Indian origin, is an evangelist minister
that traveled to Cuba mid February 2000 with the will to return Elian Gonzalez to his
father. Dr. Paul, affirmed that Castros government is manipulating the Elian case
with the sole intention of scoring an international propaganda victory
comparable to the one at Bay of Pigs in 1961. The Cuban government understands the
power of history, and is using it to write what could be the final chapter of the cold
war, said doctor Paul. (GPI) was founded in 1982, is a pacifist, humanitarian and
non profit organization that helps victims of discrimination and violence around the
world. The organization has 2.5 million missionaries in more than 60 countries, including
Cuba. Dr. Paul, said he had never had the chance to visit Cuba in the past. I got
back from a trip when I found out through the media about the problem involving Elian, of
course I immediately decided I was going to get that child back to his father.
I went to Cuba with an open mind and with the wish to bring Elian back and reunite
him with his father in Cuba, but when I got there it was very clear to me and I understood
that Elians father is a manipulated hostage of Fidel Castros government,
said Dr. Paul. Dr. Paul, explains, that just like Dominican nun Jeanne OLaughlin,
said it was the Cuban peoples terror what changed my initial point of
view. Through the years I have visited more than 65 countries, many of them under
oppressive regimes, but I have never felt the high level of repression, control and
intimidation given by the government and felt by the Cuban people in that beautiful
island, asserted Dr. Paul. My trip was blessed by the Cuban government. A document
was given to me requiring my signature. This document attests my sole purpose was to bring
Elian back to Cuba, before the meeting was OKd I had to sign said document, which I
did. A meeting was set to meet with Juan Miguel, under extremely high security in one of
the government buildings, and after hours of patiently waiting to be admitted into several
offices, and still no Juan Miguel in sight but many government officials present, I asked
to see Juan Miguel one to one, not with Fidel Castro, the president of Cuba and many other
government officials. I was asked, why? My answer was I want to ask him without
pressure from anyone what he really wants, did he want Elian back in Cuba? Did he want to
go to the United States with all his family? Did he want to go to any other country? I had
my plane in Cuba and was willing to take him and his family anywhere he wanted to
go. I was denied the opportunity to see Juan Miguel alone, I then left. During my
stay in Habana, I did speak to government officials, religious leaders, and on the street
had the opportunity to get first hand the opinion of the Cuban population. I was able to
meet and talk, one on one, with a family member and a family friend of Juan Miguel. Both
individuals told me that Juan Miguel doesnt want Elian to be returned, but that he
is at present, virtually under arrest, without any other option than to repeat what the
Cuban government (Castro) dictates, he is not freely allowed to see or speak to anyone. I
also saw, first hand, the young children prostituting themselves to get dollars to eat.
My only objective, after the fiasco, was to find the truth. Now that I have it, it
needs to be proclaimed in front of the American people and the world who are being
sidetracked by the media, said Paul who worked with the humanitarian missions
together with the now deceased Mother Teresa of Calcutta. I do not even want to
imagine what would happen to Elian if he is returned to grow under the terrible system
that exists in Cuba Dr. Paul emotionally said. The people I spoke to, mainly
the young adults with whom I spoke to, thanked me for finding the truth, which they said
is unknown outside of Cuba. I asked several people for their opinion on the
Elian situation, they answered: Are you kidding? How can we want him to come back to
suffer the lack of liberty and everything else that we are suffering? Two
weeks ago, I was ignorant as to the truth of the Cuban tragedy. Everything is
manipulated by Castro and his government, They even wanted to manipulate me. I
found the truth, and from today forward I will tell the truth everywhere in the world I
go. Dr. Paul spoke in several radio stations, meetings, multitude prayer sessions,
and some newspapers, unfortunately his testament was not covered by most of the media, for
some reason, that doesnt surprise us. Dr. Paul has given the legislator in
Washington his experiences in Cuba, and has given his opinion that Elian should be given
the U.S. citizenship and kept in this country, where he can grow up as a free human being.

Comments: Please think this through and be objective. If your son or daughter
had gone through want Elian has, and they call you to tell you the child was saved by a
fisherman that found him out at sea. You are only 90 miles from U.S. territory, wouldn't
you do whatever it took to get the first plane out to see your child. Juan Miguel, I am
sure has been living a nightmare since November 25th. I don't doubt, at all, he would have
done just that, if permited. Understand, he is not his own man, he is being manipulated by
Castro and his piranhas, don't you see he is never alone. I do not oppose Elian going
back, if his father, together with the rest of the Cuba's side of the family is allowed to
come and get him, without Cuban agents to intimidate them. Don't you find it strange that
neither the father nor the grandmothers have thanked the fisherman that saved Elian, I
would have kissed his feet! Nor the Miami family who cradled him when he needed it most.
Believe it or not both sides of the family want Elian here. But only one side can say it.
Don't you find it unthinkable that the maternal grandmother has not shown any sign of loss
or love for her dead daughter, that's because she is considered a traitor by the Cuban
government. The family has been programed by the Castro regime, the same way he plans to
deprogram Elian from the capitalism he was subjected to in the USA. According to his own
admission on TV, he said Elian will be put into a hospital to deprogram him from the harm
done here. I'm a mother of three and a grandmother of three, and I would walk on fire for
any of them. I would rather have Castro kill me, than let him keep me from my children.
Instead of taking sides, and trying to play God here, let's unite to pressure Castro to
let the Gonzalez family come get Elian, leaving no hostages behind! Then let the father
state what he wants to do. Do you think Castro will let the whole family come to claim
Elian? I don't think so, but then we will know who is at fault, won't we? He cannot afford
a desertion with the whole world looking on!

Comments: Dear Lupe, Please tell me if there is something in my post that you
don't understand. 1) The INS ruled that Elian Gonzalez should be repatriated with his
father in Cuba. 2) Elian's father, Juan-Miguel Gonzalez, has stated publicly that he would
come to the United States to retrieve his son, Elian, for the purpose of returning him to
Cuba. 3) Upon his (Juan-Miguel's) arrival to the United States, he is subject to subpheona
which would require him to appear before courts in a foreign land to fight for custody of
his son - when neither him nor his son are citizens of that nation. 4)Upon arriving in the
United States Juan-Miguel is not guaranteed the return of his son to him by virtue of his
arrival. (He is guaranteed nothing in terms of seeing his son. He is only guaranteed his
day in court. That day may be next week, month, year.) 5)Please see items five and six to
explain why Juan has not set foot in the US 6) There need not be a court case. Elian's
parents had joint custody of him. (He spend 5 days of the week living with his father, and
the weekends with his mother. When his mother past away Juan became the sole individual
who could speak on Elian's behalf. Third parties such as Elian's Miami relatives do not
have "equal standing" with Juan. Just because a third party THINKS that they can
provide a better environment than the one his parent/s can provide, it doesn't give them
any rights to any child. 7) Judges and politicians in the United States often recieve
large sums of money from powerful lobby/special interest groups. 8) The CANF is such a
group. 9)Because America is a corrupt monster whose willing population is lead by a group
of wealthy hypocites and liars, you will have your wish that Elian will, no doubt, remain
in the United States of America.

stop using him as a Political Pawn. Cuba is not like many say it is, especially those who
condemn it but have never been there. Return Elian to his family now

Comments: Re: The last two posers: You said "Cuba is not like many say
it is, especially those who condemn it but have never been there." Well, there sure
are a lot of people trying to escape that prison if it isn't so bad! Three more Cuban
refugees just arrived this weekend by boat. How many Americans or Canadians are trying to
escape their land to go to Cuba? Regarding Giczey's charge that America is corrupt and a
bunch of liars...well, I am leaving that post up because it speaks for itself. You can say
that in this country without fear of being sent to prison. In Cuba you can be imprisoned
for just writing to the government and complaining about food shortages. So
go ahead
and criticize my country all you want. You have that right here. It is a shame that you
are more concerned with legalistic issues than issues of the heart, which is what this one
is.

Comments: Some ignorant remarks are best ignored, specially went it comes
from someone using an american name as an alias! As for the rest of the people that live
in their own make believe world, but of course, in a free country, doing and eating what
they please. Being able to go to a drug store and buy whatever medicine their child might
need to keep them alive. Were their children, thank God, are children, their children
don't need to prostitute themselves in order to eat. For them it seems easy to believe
that the IMMEMSE CONCENTRATION CAMP, that for the last 41 years, the island of Cuba has
been, is soooooo great! The people of Cuba are not alowed to say what they think, if they
do their lives could be in jeorpardy. In contrast,in the countries were we live, as free
citizens, we can say what we please, with no worries as to what might happen to us. If the
communist, murderous, Cuban government is doing such a great job why don't they move there
and give Castro their support from inside the island. As for the Cuban population in the
United States, they left their country for political reasons, as political refugees not
emigrants looking for a better life in another country, which was the case with almost all
privious emigrant groups. I think a lot of this pro-Castro talk, is more envy, than
educated talk. THE WORST BLIND PERSON, IS THE ONE WHO WILL NOT SEE!!

Comments: I believe that "Lopez@Lance.net" is not an an American,
judging by the hateful tone of his remarks. He might be Canadian and many Canadians hate
Americans, but they love to spend their winters in Florida, interestingly. In any case,
whatever he is, he has refused to answer a couple of questions. I asked him if he would
want his child growing up in Cuba. He has never answered that one. I also wondered if he
has ever spoken personally with any Cuban- American refugeesand learned about the horror
that they have experienced, that he refuses to believe.. He has never answered that one.
But most importantly, his attitudes are displayed by a post he wrote last week, which I
deleted because it was inflammatory. He referred to a group of "dirty Miami
Cubans." A comment like that speaks volumes about what kind of man he is, and how
much hatred he has in his heart. When I confronted him with the inflammatory nature of his
remarks, he never apologized. Therefore, in my humble opinion, just consider the source
when he posts here.

matters is that of Juan Miguel Gonzalez. Obviously you are not prepared to give his

Comments: I would like to know where the information about Elian living with
his Dad 5 days and his Mom on weekends came from. This has not been mentioned on any news
article or casts. I would like proof. I would also like to know how this Lopez(Gizcey) guy
gets all this info, when in Miami I have found (channel 7) has been the only station on
top of it. I also noticed this dude spelled his name wrong in an earlier post. This guy
has asked for proof again and again. Every time we have supplied him with facts. He is
guilty of doing the same thing he has accused us. Giving false information without backing
it up. I have been all over the world and the two places that looked like pure hell were
China and Cuba. There are other places, but these two really bother me. From know on
please ignor this guy. Looks to me he just wants to make people look bad. I ask people to
just put down as many Articles and web-sites about Cubas terror. Cuba not Germany, China
or Canada. I have educated several people that did not know the whole truth and like Mr.
Barnett they have changed thier mind. Some people are slower than others. I will let you
figure out who they are. Kieth I hope I kept this cool without crossing the name calling
line. Lupe forget this Dude and show me something I do'nt know. I enjoy reading your

Comments: I was prepared to just ignore the arguments of Lopez...but his
latest statements deserve a response. "I would want my son to grow up with his mother
and father with whom he is attached - even if it means growing up in Cuba! However, it
doesn't matter what you or I or the nun wants - the only opinion that matters is that of
Juan Miguel Gonzalez. Obviously you are not prepared to give his opinion any
respect." It is obvious that Lopez is not honestly and sincerely searching for the
truth. He is only wanting to argue and prove that he is right. He consistently maintains
that all the lies that come out of Cuba are truths, and as long as he believes the moon is
made of green cheese and other myths...he will continue to just post what he does for the
sake of argument. His philosophy is "Don't confuse me with facts...I am right no
matter what you say." He believes everything that Castro says, but he has never once
talked in person with a Cuban refugee and learned first hand about the horrors they faced.
The only Cubans he has talked to are the Cubans he lived with when he lived in that
country! He knows nothing about the allegations of child prostitution being sanctioned by
the Cuban government, but even if it were proven to him by eyewitnesses or independent
journalists, he would still defend the status quo. In an email to me, he boldly said that
the grandma was NOT molesting or fondling her grandson when she unzipped Elian's pants to
see if "it had grown." He likened her fondling of her six year old grandson to
what his wife does with their six MONTH old son when she innocently kisses his buttocks
"because he is so cute." I wonder when his son turns six, if he would welcome
having a close adult relative unzip HIS son's pants in the same way the grandma did to
Elian. In his book, such behavior is acceptable. In an earlier post (which I deleted) he
referred to the Cuban refugees as "dirty Miami Cubans." Apparently, to him,
escaping from a brutal prison, as Cuba obviously is, and fleeing to freedom makes them
"dirty." His racist remarks about Cubans and his defense of child molesting
speak volumes about his character. Despite the fact that Elian would be subjected to
brainwashing by being forced to join the Castro youth....despite the fact that he would be
sent to a work camp and separated from his family when he gets older....despite the fact
that Elian's father has NEVER made a public appearance WITHOUT the presence of Castro's
goons surrounding him...Lopez continues to say that "the only opinion that matters is
that of Juan Miguel Gonzalez." Alright, I will give him that one. But what IS the
father's REAL opinion? How can we know how he REALLY feels when the goons are always
around him? HELLO! Not only that, but a minister named Rev. Paul, whose word Lopez doubts
because the reverend changed his mind, went to Cuba IN PERSON for the purpose of trying to
return Elian to his father. When he wanted to see the father alone, he was told by Cuban
officials that he could not see him without a Cuban official being present. HELLO AGAIN!
The reverend was absolutely appalled by what he felt was a man being under virtual house
arrest, not allowed to go anywhere without being accompanied by goons. Yet Lopez questions
the validity of this eyewitness. How many more Cubans will die for their freedom as they
attempt to flee oppression from their homeland to come to America? Two more of them died
just this week. How many more victims will be falsely imprisoned, tortured, sexually
abused, maimed or murdered in prison just because they expressed an opinion against
Castro? Lopez believes what he wants to believe, even after being presented with evidence,
eyewitness accounts, and testimonials from people who have experienced Cuban oppression
firsthand...but more importantly, his only purpose for posting here is to antagonize and
to argue, not to seek the truth. Well, Mr. Lopez, whoever you are, you can argue all you
want, continue your membership in the Flat Earth Society, if you wish, but remember this
much. The truth ALWAYS comes to the fore. Lies are always exposed in the end. By the way,
Mr. Lopez is a Canadian, not an American.

Comments: I received an email with two eyewitness accounts of what life is
like in Cuba. You want evidence? Here is the first, printed verbatim: "Cuba is a
corrupt totalitarian government with is run by one man. Cubans are miserable in the island
cause no matter how much they work, they have no hope. I went to Cuba last year, not as a
tourist, I lived with my family there, so I had some sort of view of how Cubans lived in
the island, and it's not a pretty site. I provide my family in Cuba with a lot of dollars
so they can at least buy some food. Eating is necessary, but it is not all that a human
being needs. A human being needs to enjoy life, have fun. A person needs to have a motive
to live, not just to eat like a vegetable. For the Cuban citizens, there is not much to do
in the island. Most hotels, beaches and museums are for tourist use only, Cuban citizens
are not permitted to enter. Also, other than not being able to go to many places, people
cannot even watch a decent movie on television sometimes. There are 2 television channels
in Cuba, there is good programming in the channels, but if castro wants to talk about
politics, then the entire programming for the whole day will be cut off. Of course there
is no inspiration to work nor to live in Cuba, you can't earn much, nor do much. The
citizens in the island are miserable. Just look at the eyes of regular citizens in the
streets, it shows agony, suffering and pain. That pain have been going on in that island
for 41 years."

Comments: Here is the second eyewitness account. It never ceases tp amaze me
how many testimonials have been printed in this guestbook alone...yet there are those who
stubbornly think that, no matter how oppressive Cuba is, we should still send Elian back
there, just so he can be with his father. What loving father would want their child living
in those conditions? This is printed verbatim from the email: "I also went back to
Cuba last year for the first time since my departure 30 years ago as a young child. I went
to take needed medications to my family. I can corroborate Freedom for Cuba's descriptions
of the situation there. I think though that what impacted me the most was the total lack
of information the Cuban people live with. Their contact with the rest of the world is
very limited. It is as if they lived in a bubble or a prison. They are eager to know and
learn about the rest of the world, but time has stood still for them...and their everyday
struggles to survive and to find something to eat prevents them from having time for much
else. This lack of information keeps them away from exploring other options as they think
they have none. It was very sad for me to see how my nice, smart, educated relatives lived
in miserable conditions...and I feel that they don't even realize how bad they have it
because they have nothing to compare themselves with...only their dreams and what they
think life in the "outside" is...but no outside magazines, no TV shows...only
what the government allows them to see and hear. Let's fight for Elian's right to stay
away from that horrible system."

Comments: ?I have been thinking about the last 3 months, and I feel quite
content as to the outcome of many situations involving the Elian and Cuban problems.
First, Castro canceled his trip abroad because he was scared to death of being
apprehended. Second, Elian makes it to Florida alive and doing just fine. In December
Castro gives the USA 72 hour ultimatum to return Elian to Cuba, but it is now February 29,
and Elian is still here. Third, sister Jeanne who was for the return of Elian to Cuba,
changed her mind when she met Elian and both sides of the family. Fourth, the grandmother
commits child abuse and announces her deed on TV. Fifth, Doctor Kilari Amand Paul,
president of Global Peace Initiative, who traveled to Cuba to negotiate the return of
Elian to his father, after a fiasco with the Cuban government, left with his mind changed
to keep Elian in the United States, and is taking his experiences to share with the rest
of the world. Sixth, A high ranking Cuban-American INS spy is in jail without bond, for
passing information to the Castro government. Seventh, Another Cuban-American, so called
diplomat?, yeah right! in Washington D.C. by the name of Imperatori, is spelled from the
USA for having secret meetings in Miami with Mr. Faget, the INS spy. He was spelled, after
Castro told the USA, Mr. Imperatori was not going anywhere, it took only 3 minutes for the
FBI to convince Imperatori he had to go, so Castro's instructions were ignored. Guess were
he went, Canada, the friendly land. Although, the communist Cuban government, wants us to
believe these people didn't have any involvement in the Elian case, just by coincidence
Mr. Imperatori was one of the Castro's goons that accompanied the famous, abusive,
grandmothers on their trip to Miami. Imperatori, was also the one to give the order for
the grandmother's plane to take off as the Miami family was driving into the airport. But,
NOOOOOOOO, they didn't have anything to do with Elian! Castro and his people all over the
world can fool some of the people, sometimes, but they can't fool all of the people, all
the time. Some of the people on this list might be on a first name basis with Castro, so I
want you to give him a message: He sold his sole to the devil, and he is knocking at his
door to collect. His African religion, told him he was doomed, and we are seeing sign
after sign, that it might be true. But, Elian is still here, and with good thoughts and
prayer, I know God will not turn his back on him, he is definitely a very special little
boy, with a lot of power.
