Comments: I received this email today. I have reprinted it in its entirety. Please cut and paste it and forward it to all interested people. -------- Attention friends for a free Cuba! This is a call to action. Even if you do not live in New York City you still can help us! Please forward this to friends, families and organizations that are interested in fighting for democracy in Cuba. This is to notify you that the infamous Pastors for Peace, International Action Center, and other communist sympathizers will hold a meeting at HUNTER COLLEGE in New York City to regroup and go over strategies in their constant campaign to help Fidel Castro and undermine future democracy in Cuba. We are planning to form a group to protest this action as well to go into the meeting (which will be covered by media and C-span) and confront Jose Serrano, Lucius Walker, Ramsey Clark and TERESA GUTIERREZ (A PRIME ORGANIZER OF ALL PRO CASTRO MARCHES IN NEW YORK CITY) on their hypocritical stance regarding Cuba. It is important that we stress non violence, democracy, future civil society in Cuba, the crimes of the Castro dictatorship, and the plight of Cuban political dissidents within the island today and yesteryear. Our time has come to do this. If you live in NEW YORK or the METRO AREA please contact us! We will welcome your support anyway you can give it to us. We need between 50 to a 100 persons to make this protest action a success. We are only acting as messengers to get everybody involved. PS Below please find the actual statement from INTERNATIONAL ACTION CENTER. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------- MAJOR SYMPOSIUM ON THE CASE OF ELIÁN GONZÁLEZ TO BE HELD AT HUNTER COLLEGE SATURDAY, MARCH 25 Legal, child psychologists, foreign policy experts and others to discuss González case in depth. Speakers to include National Lawyers Guild attorney who met with González family in Cuba this month and one of the 14,000 Pedro Pan Cuban youth. On Saturday, March 25 a diverse group of experts will convene to discuss in depth the case of Elián González from several angles. Speakers at the symposium will include: Rev. Lucius Walker of IFCO/Pastors for Peace; City Council Member Jose Rivera; Vicky Pelaez, Opinion Columnist El Diario la Prensa; Rafael Dausa, Cuba's Permanent Deputy Representative to the United Nations; and Dean Hubbard, Coordinator National Lawyers Guild Delegation to Cuba in March and met with Juan Miguel González, Elián's father and grandparents. Other speakers will include Jose Pertierra, immigration lawyer from Washington, D.C.; Teresa Gutierrez from the International Action Center; Zenon Arribalzaga, one of 14,000 Operation Pedro Pan youth and Ellen Bernstein, psychotherapist. The symposium, organized by the National Committee for the Return of Elián to his Father in Cuba, will provide interested parties an opportunity to hear an in depth analysis of the case. Elián's tragedy has gripped this nation as well as the people of Cuba since November 25th, when the child survived an attempt by his mother to come to the U.S. on a rickety raft. Elián's mother regrettably died in the attempt. A February 22nd poll published by the Gallup Organization showed that 67% of the people in this country agree with the National Committee's view that Elián should be returned to his father. The National Committee for the Return of Elián will report at the Symposium on upcoming events to continue the pressure on the Justice Department and the Clinton Administration to do everything in its power to see that the child is sent back as soon as possible. The March 25th Symposium to be held at Hunter College on Saturday, March 25th will take place in the Hunter College Lecture Hall, 615 Hunter West from 2-5pm. ------------ Note from Keith: I would be happy if 25 people showed up, but let's pray that over 200 or more will be there and make their prsence known assertively, but peacefully. The apologists might do all they can to prevent your voice from being heard...so pray about it...and ask for God's divine guidance and presence if you do attend.

I have personally fought so hard with my many petitions and letters to President Clinton, Vice President Gore, Mrs. Clinton, Mrs. Gore, Janet Reno, The 106th Congress and Senate. I have failed you. I have failed Elian. I am so very sorry with your loss. This is a "SAD DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY". This is a "SAD DAY FOR MS. LIBERTY", who now sets on Staten Island, no longer a Symbol of Freedom. Today Ms. Liberty sheds tears; she is no longer needed or wanted. She has lost the respect of the civilized world. For so many years, The Statue of Liberty has stood proudly in New York Harbor. Ms. Liberty has always held up the "Torch of Freedom", welcoming all those who came to The United States seeking Freedom from Oppression. The Attorney General of The United States, Janet Reno, has not upheld the very principles for which "Ms. Liberty has stood for all these years". I wonder where her family originally came from; I wonder what her ancestors would have done after risking their lives so that she would be free; I wonder. The United States Government should now carefully place Ms. Liberty in a casket for her final rest and return her to the French Government. May God Bless Ms. Liberty. I will pray for Elian, and the Gonzalez Family Miami. Today will go down in history as "The 2nd Day of Infamy" in American history. Today I shed a tear for Elian Gonzalez. Let's pray for another miracle! The following is a fax I sent to Janet Reno today. To: Janet Reno I never though I would see the day that this country, I should say, THIS ADMINISTRATION, the home of the BRAVE (not our President) would be willing to use an innocent six year old as a game piece to deal with Castro behind everyone’s back. Of course, we all know there is a secret agenda. In our community, you are a respected person and as such, your actions speak louder that words could ever have. I guess Elian’s life is not important to you and your superior, after all he is just a child, and can’t vote. You, of all people, knowing exactly what awaits Elian in Cuba, are expediting his return to “CASTRO” notice I didn’t say “Juan Miguel,” to be, as Castro said, de programed from the harm done to him by the Imperialist Pigs. Elian will perish in Cuba's CONCENTRATION CAMP, if not physically, definitely morally and mentally! Maybe the following statement will show you that this country, many years ago, had government officials truly worthy of every decent human being’s admiration. Comments: I am angered beyond all measure by the criminal and inhuman 'persons'(I would like to use a pejorative here)who would stoop so low as to keep a 6 year old child from his natural and loving father. I have followed this issue for some time, and I am getting more and more angered by the obstructive tactics used by those who claim (note the word 'claim') to have the interest of the boy at heart. Comments: I feel so much love for this little boy, just as if he were my own son. I can only imagine those last minutes were he watched his mother die, how terrified he must have bee and then yet how brave he was that he sat on that raft floating alone for days. He knew he would be found, he knew he step on American soil, as his mother must have told him before launching themselves in those dangerous waters, he knew why I'm sure, just as he knows why he wants to stay here. This is bright little boy, it shows in his eyes. His mother's wishes are being ignored, her living will was to be free along with her son. It is a document of her desire left behind for others to follow not to do what ever anyone else desired. She was the sole guardian in the eyes of the courts, since her separation from the father, he did not object then & probably didn't care much about seeing his son or not. The stepfather returned to Cuba from US freedom, that's enough evidence of his love for her and her son. The so called father has NOT shown an ounce of goodness in him. For if there was such a son & father bond, the day his son was found he should of been on a raft himself to be by his side. Nothing & No one on this earth would stop me from seeing my children. This man & his entire family are taking advantage of the situation for self gain. Now they have special status in Cuba, little do they know that once Elian is back they will disappear, never to be heard off again. As to our President, we know his morals are non existent. He disrespected his own wife & daughter in their (temporary) home. He's lied over & over with no remorse. What can we expect from this type of man? NOTHING As to Ms. Reno, it's not surprising she has no clue what motherhood is. She chose a different life style which is obvious to all. She is her boss' puppet and does what she's told or else. I feel sorry for her, for she will have nightmares for the rest of her living days, of sentencing an inocent little boy to death & denied him a day in court. It is time that the American people become aware of our pain & suffering. I call on the many wealthy Cuban Americans to bring it to them in living color. They know only what they hear and they are sick with it already. All they see is a bunch of Cubans with their flags demonstrating. This is not going to solve anything, anymore. Imigration should be sued by the rest of the parents that are seperated from their children all over the world. Demand that they bring them home, not the legal guardian they were kidnapped from or held hostage by Dictators like Castro. This is an international issue and now is the time to get it out to the world if family unity is so important that we send a little boy back to live in HELL. This is called CHILD ABUSE Mr. Clinton!!!!!!! I pray to God that there are still people in this world that respect the meaning of freedom and has what it takes to stand up to the President of the United States and makes justice prevail, Elian stays.
